101-year-old marathon runner preps for one last race
4/19/2012If the 86-year-old dominating gymnastics competitions didn't motivate you to get your lazy butt off the couch, maybe this 101-year-old marathon runner will. The amazingly youthful-looking Fauja Singh didn't begin running until he was the ripe old age of 89 and arrived to his first training session in a three-piece suit and trainers, according to his coach. But, after eight successful marathons, Singh is finally hanging up his long-distance running shoes with this weekend's London Marathon. For anyone who's worried that running at his age is dangerous, his coach told BBC, "Everyone dies, so you might as well die...doing something you enjoy." Fingers crossed that doesn't happen to Singh on Sunday.
What do you still hope to be doing when you're 100?
