13-year-old boy rescues elderly grandma from blaze
5/18/2012We know one kid who deserves to get more than a $10 in his next birthday card. Jamal Bell, 13, is being hailed a hero after dragging his 81-year-old grandmother, Bessy Bell, from their Detroit home after it was set ablaze. Bessy was asleep when arsonists hurled Molotov cocktails through the windows, and the house quickly became engulfed in flames. Luckily, her son and grandson were staying at the house and quick-thinking Jamal dragged his grandma out, oxygen tank and all. Bessy was treated for severe burns to her legs, and her son for smoke inhalation. Police are investigating.
