23-year-olds defy inevitable aging and wear shortest skirts

There's no skirting the fact (ahem) that women are now wearing miniskirts well into their 40s -- and that girls often start wearing them in their mid-teens. But a new study has actually pinpointed the precise age at which women tend to wear the shortest miniskirts: 23 years old. Teenage girls wear skirts that are, on average, about 14 inches long, according to a study by the U.K.'s Debenhams department store. Women's hemlines tend to creep up in their early 20s, peaking at 12.5 inches around age 23. Skirt lengths then bounce around like a roller coaster for a while before falling below the knee around age 49. Gravity's toll and all.
