Radio station that ran Kate prank to donate $524K to nurse's family
12/11/2012Yesterday the Australian DJs behind the now-infamous prank call to Kate Middleton's hospital room made a tearful televised apology for their role in the suicide of Jacintha Saldanha, the nurse who put the call through. Today, the radio station that broadcast their call says it will resume running ads, which it had halted following Saldanha's death, and donate proceeds through the end of the year to a fund for her family. 2DayFM execs, who have faced criticism for running the call, say the station will contribute a minimum of 500,000 Australian dollars (US$524,000) to the fund to help support Saldanha's family and that they are "very sorry for what has happened."
