Surgery is terrifying for anyone, especially a major one, like a hip operation. But if you make your living doing something physical, it’s got to be even more of a nightmare. So we applaud A-Rod for reportedly reaching out to Lady Gaga moments before her hip surgery (a procedure that forced her to cancel her World Tour, and refund a reported $30 million in advance ticket sales). A-Rod had had the same operation, and as the two megastars were in the same New York hospital, the baseball player sat down with the dancer just before her surgery and reportedly calmed her fears with a pep talk.
