Shooter used his mom's weapons in school massacre, police say

Alleged Newtown shooter Adam Lanza used weapons belonging to his mother in the shooting spree that killed 28 people, according to law enforcement officials. Before heading to Sandy Hook Elementary School, where his mother had taught, Lanza killed her at their home and then drove her car to the school, police say. The guns — Glock and Sig Sauer handguns, as well as a Bushmaster .223-caliber assault rifle — were legally obtained and registered to Nancy Lanza, though it is not known whether the rifle was used in Friday’s shootings.
