Sandy Hook shooter's DNA to be studied in search for answers
12/27/2012Will the DNA of Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza help explain why he did what he did? Could it even help prevent another such tragedy? That might be the reason Connecticut health officials are asking geneticists to study Lanza's DNA for abnormalities or mutations that could increase the risk of aggressive or violent behavior. While some experts have expressed concern that the results could stigmatize people with similar genetic markers, others contend it could yield valuable information about violent behavior. "I think we could learn more about it, and we should learn more about it," said Baylor College of Medicine professor Arthur Beaudet.
