Adam Lanza killed himself as police entered school, governor says

12/16/2012

Speaking on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday morning, Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy said Adam Lanza, the alleged gunman in the Newtown shooting, killed himself as first responders entered the building. "We surmise that it was during the second classroom episode that he heard responders coming and apparently at that, decided to take his own life," Malloy said. For many people, this raises the disturbing idea that Lanza was stopped from an even more gruesome massacre — it’s difficult not to wonder how many more students would have died if the first responders arrived two or three minutes later. President Obama will visit Newtown on Sunday, hoping to offer what comfort he can to the devastated community. [Source]
