If Adrian Peterson misses NFL record, he has backup plan: Olympic gold
12/30/2012If Adrian Peterson can grind out 208 yards Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, he'll claim the NFL's single-season rushing record. That's a big number and long odds, but not nearly as long as his other goal: running in the 2016 Olympics. "A lot of people laugh and be like, 'Come on, let's be real with yourself — it's Usain Bolt,'" the Minnesota Vikings running back said. Well, yes, let's be real: He'll be 31, he'll have endured the pounding of three more NFL seasons, and he hasn't sprinted since high school. On the other hand, he won't have 11 football players trying to break him in half en route to the finish line. [Source]
