Man busted in upstate New York for trying to carry too much gas
11/6/2012
At a time and place when gasoline is at a premium — namely right now, in parts of New York — it seems like someone might notice if you're driving around with visible buckets full of 150 gallons of unleaded gas. Yunus Latif, 47, was busted in upstate Orange, NY, after cops discovered the 30 five-gallon Home Depot buckets full of gasoline that he'd stacked precariously in the back of his van. Latif said he'd planned to deliver them to his fuel-less friends and family. The officers also issued a misdemeanor to Valero station owner Muniruzzaman Gomosta because they thought he should've picked up on what Latif was doing, especially after he went into the store "several times" to pay for his haul.
