America's oldest teacher is 99 and feeling fine
1/18/2013If you've ever thought you were too old to do anything, Agnes Zhelesnik is here to prove you wrong. America's oldest teacher just turned 99. Her birthday was celebrated at the Sundance School in North Plainfield, N.J., with some Glenn Miller and at least one pink feather boa. What makes Zhelesnik's story especially awesome is that she didn't start teaching until she was 81, after 60 years as a stay-at-home mom. These days, she teaches in the same school as her 69-year-old daughter, instructing students on cooking, sewing and how to make costumes. Zhelesnik says she plans to stay on the job until she's 100.
