Airline gives half-off fare for flying with dead seatmate
6/23/2012There's got to be a better way to get discount airfare. Swedish radio journalist Lena Pettersson took her seat on a Kenya Airways flight to Tanzania and noticed the passenger across the aisle looked like he'd had a bad bout with airline food. It turned out to be something much worse, and the man died a few hours after takeoff -- spending the rest of the trip stretched out over three seats covered by a blanket. That made for a creepy flight for Pettersson, who was subsequently reimbursed for half her fare, about $700. "Of course it was unpleasant," she said, "but I am not a person who makes a fuss." Give us a screaming baby any trip.
