AlPa to play JoePa in Penn State football scandal movie
1/18/2013Al Pacino obviously asked his agent to only get him roles as controversial individuals. Weeks after he signed on to play Phil Spector, he's announced that he'll play Joe Paterno in "Happy Valley," the tentative title of a biopic about the Penn State football coach. Adding to the project's film kudos, it will be directed by Brian De Palma — the third time he's worked with Pacino, after 1983's "Scarface" and 1993's "Carlito's Way." "I can't think of a better duo to tell this story of a complex, intensely righteous man who was brought down by his own tragic flaw," said producer Edward R. Pressman. [Source]
