Alaskan coast hit by 7.5-magnitude earthquake and teeny-tiny tsunami

1/5/2013

After a 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Alaska Saturday, officials in that state, Hawaii, and parts of the Pacific Northwest braced for an ensuing tidal wave. Luckily, the worst they saw was a six-inch tsunami. Officials reported no damage from the earthquake or the weakling wave, and the tsunami warnings have been cancelled. After seeing the devastation caused in Japan in 2011 and in Indonesia in 2004, no one seems disappointed that this tsunami failed to make a big splash. [Source]
