Dumb, drunk Americans don't realize they drink too much, study says

While many Americans still drink too much, most are winning the constant daily battle against the bottle. Eighteen percent of men and 11 percent of women admitted to exceeding the recommended rates of two drinks per day for men and one for women, but it could have been worse. "Most adults don't drink at all on any given day," said Patricia Guenther, who headed the U.S. Department of Agriculture study that quizzed 5,400 people over 21 on how much they're boozing.
