Prize football recruit's mom allegedly flees with paperwork
2/6/2013If the intrigue and bizarre turns of college football recruiting have been over the top for decades, it's usually school vs. school. But Alex Collins' planned ceremony to sign a letter-of-intent with the University of Arkansas on Wednesday unraveled when his mother showed up at South Plantation High School in Fort Lauderdale and reportedly made off with the paperwork. Andrea McDonald is apparently against her son leaving the area, and he had backed out of a commitment ot Miami before deciding on Arkansas. Collins, a five-star running back, lives with South Plantation coach Doug Gatewood, but athletes under 21 need a parent to sign the form. [Source]
