Hundreds of mourners expected to attend funeral of 'famous' cat
3/15/2013There'll probably be fewer people at your funeral than there will be at the funeral of Alfie, a dearly departed cat from Wales. The black feline was well known to the villagers of Chepstow, who often petted him as he sat "on the corner of the road by the chemist." When Alfie's owner Caroline Gammon announced on his Facebook page that he'd passed away at the ripe old age of 19, admirers from all over the world left condolence messages. Hundreds of people are reportedly expected to attend his funeral this Sunday, and Chepstow councillor Dale Rooke is considering giving him the official title of "most famous cat in Wales."
