Jail time for woman who cried 'I'm Jack Sparrow!' as she stole a ferry
9/21/2012A woman was lucky she wasn't hurt, but less lucky to receive a 112-day prison sentence when she took a ferry for a joyride in Devon, U.K. Alison Whelan told cops she was Jack Sparrow as she floated out of their reach on the Dart Princess last September. She wasn't really "Pirates of the Caribbean" hero Jack Sparrow, however. She was just drunk and tripping on deadly nightshade. Such was her substance-induced stupor that she managed to run the ferry into a couple of moored vessels, causing around $2,500 damage to the Dart Princess. It took more than 30 people, including police, ambulance, lifeboat and coastguard personnel, to bring her in, the court heard. Arrr! [Source]
