Doofy alligator whiles away the hours with his head stuck in a drain

2/11/2013

The world might have lost one beloved crocodile this week, but luckily that doesn't mean there's any shortage of the scaled reptiles out there. In Largo, Fla., a wayward alligator (they're pretty similar, OK?) turned up in a storm drain Friday — or rather, turned upside down. After the poor guy somehow wedged its head in the small opening, rescue workers from Florida Fish and Wildlife were forced assist the stuck creature. A passer-by called after noticing the trapped creature, which was presumably flailing its body around like a giant, razor-toothed oaf trying to unstick its noggin from the drain. Having a stuck alligator seems like one of those "only in Florida" things, but then again, so does having alligators in the first place. [Source]
