Mom who kept getting food stamps after winning $1 million found dead
9/30/2012First she won a million dollars. Then she was charged with fraud and became an Internet villain. Now, sadly, Amanda Clayton has been found dead. The 24-year-old mother of two, who gained online notoriety when news broke in March that she'd continued collecting food stamps after winning a $1 million lotto, was found dead Saturday in a house in Ecorse, Mich. A drug overdose is suspected. Clayton had won the "Make Me Rich!" game show in 2011, but kept taking $200 a month in state benefits. She was charged with felony welfare fraud, sentenced to nine months of probation, and ordered to repay about $5,500. [Source]
