Amercia.com owner kissing Romney's feet after gaffe
6/1/2012The Amercian dream is alive and well for a Chinese man thanks to Mitt Romney's app gaffe that misspelled our country's name. Big-time U.S.A. fan John Chen bought the domain Amercia.com in 2009 for $100, fully realizing that there was a typo. "Amercia is so close to America, and it makes us feel so close to the USA," Chen says. Within a day of Romney's gaffe, the Shanghai man was getting emails asking to buy Amercia.com. Domain appraiser EstiBot currently lists its value at $12,000, though it's going for $2,200 at auction. Chen says any money he gets from selling the name will go toward sending his son to college in the U.S.
How can Chen capitalize on the Great Amercian Gaffe?
