America's national phallic symbol is drooping

Is the Washington Monument sinking? The earthquake that shook the mid-Atlantic coast last August may have caused the 555-foot tower to sink a millimeter, and natural settling may be responsible for another millimeter. Two millimeters may not seem like much, but what if it were your obelisk instead of Washington's?
