An epically muddy fox gets a rescue and a makeover

5/24/2012

This adorable baby fox -- who, incredibly, looks like a dirt-caked cartoon character in his muddy guise -- got a much-needed makeover from staff at the South Essex Wildlife Hospital. The four-month-old fox was rescued by construction workers in London's Canary Wharf who found him trapped in a hole and covered in mud and sludge. Though he would have perished without their intervention, the fox -- who's been nicknamed "Muddsey" by his veterinarians -- is now in good health: "[The fox] would certainly have had a pretty awful death if it hadn't been found," one hospital worker told the Daily Mail. "But it's fine now."
