7/11/2012Watching the Sept. 11 attacks unfold was the most memorable television moment of the past 50 years, according to a new study. More than 1,000 adults were asked to rank the impact of 96 events -- including news coverage, pop culture (think TV series finales) and sporting events -- by considering not just the memory of watching them, but who they watched them with and whether they talked about it afterward. The top 10 TV moments included Hurricane Katrina, the O.J. Simpson verdict and the Challenger explosion, and five events from the past year — including Osama bin Laden's death and the Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding — were in the top 20. The "M*A*S*H" finale, at No. 46 on the list, was the highest rated entertainment item (sorry, "Seinfeld").
