Andy Samberg's 'eff you' to the Oscars falls flat
2/24/2013The Independent Spirit Awards may be indie filmmaking's answer to the Oscars, but that doesn't mean the little guys aren't still dreaming of a golden statuette. At Saturday's ISA ceremony, host Andy Samberg tried to rile up some hatred for the Academy, but the crowd was not biting. "We have one thing to say to Hollywood: F*ck you," said Samberg during his opening monologue, delivered primarily to members of Hollywood. Samberg doubled down, saying, "Oscars, go eff yourself ... Everybody say it with me: Hollywood, f*ck you." At which point absolutely no one in the audience said it with him. Awkward. [Source]
