Angry Birds join Philadelphia Eagles to attack more pigskin
6/14/20122012 has been a busy year for the stars of the hit game "Angry Birds." They've opened a theme park, they've rocketed into space, and now they're joining the line-up of the Philadelphia Eagles. The birds won't be blasted from a slingshot to knock down rival teams, but it's likely they'll take over the animations that appear on stadium video boards. The Eagles didn't team with "Birds" makers Rovio just because they're addicted to the game. They're hoping the partnership will draw in younger fans. "This is very much a play for that younger generation," said Ari Roitman, the Eagles' senior vice president of business. It's lucky there aren't any pro football teams with pig mascots -- that would've made for a pretty awkward game.
