'Today' casualty Ann Curry begs NBC to let her have a tomorrow on CNN
1/1/2013Television is a little like those psycho lovers in bad movies with the if-I-can't-have-you-nobody-will fixation, except the networks cling tight even when they do the dumping. NBC (and co-host Matt Lauer) couldn't wait to run Ann Curry off the "Today" show last summer, but the network still has her under contract with a non-compete clause. Now, former NBC exec Jeff Zucker is taking over CNN and reportedly wants to put Curry in Anderson Cooper's prime-time spot, which has Curry "begging" her employers for a release. Maybe NBC should beg her to stay: Ratings for "Today" kept tanking even after Curry was removed. [Source]
