7/20/2012Ann Romney has been portrayed as the loving wife standing behind Mitt throughout his campaign, but this morning, she may have hurt rather than helped her husband's image—at least in the Twittersphere. In an interview on Good Morning America, she defended their decision to withhold tax records from the public, something for which Mitt Romney has been widely criticized. “We’ve given all you people need to know,” she declared, promptly opened the floodgates to scathing responses. Her comment, which many people felt was condescending, sparked the Twitter hashtag #YouPeople along with a lot of venting about Romney’s supposed air of privilege. [Source]
