105-year-old woman says thanks but no thanks to place in preschool

Anna Eriksson is 105 and lives in a nursing home, so it probably came as a surprise when she was offered a place at the Central School, a nearby preschool in Tierp, Sweden. The mix-up arose when the preschool sent out letters of invitation to all the youngsters in the area who the population registry listed as being born in '07 — including Anna, who was born in 1907, making her slightly older than her 2007-born potential classmates. "Her daughter got in touch and she and I both thought it was pretty funny," said the Central School's principal Marinna Eriksson (no relation).
