7/9/2012In what some are calling an example of the ultimate "liberal hypocrisy," Denise Rich — socialite, songwriter and former wife of pardoned billionaire trader Marc Rich — gave up her U.S. citizenship in November (she has Austrian citizenship through her late father). The Democratic-leaning socialite joins Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin on the list of high-profile Americans who've recently kicked Lady Liberty to the curb. Rich handed in her U.S. passport "so that she can be closer to her family and to Peter Cervinka, her long-time partner," according to her attorney. Surprisingly, there's no mention of her potentially saving tens of millions of dollars in taxes.
