Vegetarian fireman says he's being bullied by meathead co-workers

Talk about an herbivore's dilemma. Since Anthony Harper started eating green, he says fellow firefighters have been seeing red. The New York City firefighter said the trouble began two years ago, when the eight-year veteran became a vegetarian. Since nearly every communal meal at his Brooklyn firehouse was a meat dish, Harper stopped paying for his share of the grub. Harper said he has since become the target of harassment from his fellow firefighters, ranging from dangerous assignments to physical threats. His situation got wurst after he reported being head-butted by a colleague, and getting reassigned to a desk job. An FDNY spokesman called the meaty allegations "nonsense." [Source]
