Guy made $70K a week by crawling across filthy movie theater floors

10/23/2012

Going to see the latest chick-flicks cost some Connecticut moviegoers tens of thousands of dollars, thanks to their open purses and a popcorn-scented thief. Anthony Johnson was convicted Monday after stealing up to $70,000 per week by crawling under movie theater seats and swiping credit cards from women's purses while they watched the film. Johnson used female accomplices to keep an eye on how the women stashed their purses, and then he "crawled around the theater until he was done." Johnson later made fake IDs matching his accomplices to the stolen cards. "I can't say I've ever been as committed to something as this guy," one Hartford Courant commenter wrote. Nor have we ever been willing to touch a movie theater floor. [Source]
