Italian politician resigns after slashing disabled driver’s tires
10/5/2012Most people would apologize and back out if they were nabbed illegally occupying a disabled parking spot. But Italian politician Antonio Piazza had another idea. He’d just parked his Jaguar in a disabled space in Lecco, Italy (which he’d apparently been using for the last three years), when a bona fide disabled driver asked him to move. When Piazza refused, the man phoned the police, who dished out a $105 ticket to the pol. No biggie, right? Wrong. Piazza chilled out gangster-style until the coast was clear, then snuck back and slashed the disabled guy’s tires — and it was all neatly captured on CCTV. Piazza attempted to explain it away as a “momentary fit of rage,” but he’s been forced to resign. [Source]
