App shows eating habits get worse as the day goes on

5/23/2012

According to data compiled by Massive Health's iPhone app, Eatery, people all over the world start their day eating healthily and then progressively make less healthy food choices, until, once the sun has set, we're all stuffing our faces with cookies and ice cream and French fries and chips. "There is a 1.7 percent overall decrease in healthiness of what's eaten for every hour of the day that passes after breakfast," Massive Health founder Aza Raskin tells NPR. "That's as true in Tokyo as it is in San Francisco as it is in São Paulo." Bad habits know no borders.
