App that measures how ugly you are rakes in big bucks

4/30/2012

The Ugly Meter, an app that measures how not-good-looking you are, has proven attractive indeed for its makers. The obnoxious $0.99 app ($4.99 for the pro version, whatever that is) has reportedly earned more than $500,000. In the ultimate PR boost, one of the app's creators snagged an invite to Howard Stern's radio show, delivering a pathetic score of "0" to Ronnie the Limo Driver and a fab "92" to Stern's wife, Beth (she even beat Angelina and Brad!). After that broadcast, Ugly Meter downloads poured in to the tune of $80,000 in a single day. Are you ready to join the app's more than 5 million users to find out how attractive you aren't?
