Police advise drivers to use Apple Maps if they want to get stranded
12/10/2012The hits just keep coming for Apple Maps. The latest slam is from police in the Australian state of Victoria, who say they've had to rescue several "distressed motorists" who the app "directed off the beaten track in recent weeks." The drivers were trying to get to Mildura, a large country town which cops say Maps has placed in the middle of the Murray-Sunset National Park more than 40 miles from its actual location. Because there's no water in the park and temperatures can soar past 110 degrees, police say it's "a potentially life-threatening issue" and have advised motorists to rely on other maps. [Source]
