Apple Maps app is great — if you want to get lost

9/20/2012

If getting from Point A to Point B doesn't concern you, then Apple Maps is great. For the rest of us, maybe not so much. Complaints are filtering in about the app mapping extinct businesses, directing drivers off highway overpasses and inventing entire neighborhoods (you've been to San Francisco's nonexistent French Quarter, right). One Irish minister contacted Apple, pleading for the company to correct an error that identified Dublin's Airfield Park (a pastoral city farm) as an airport. The company even misplaced an Australian Apple store. OK, so the graphics are great, but as one user tweets, "Dear Apple can we please have our Google Maps back? Your maps are completely useless!"
