Apple orders fewer iPhone parts and OMG does that mean fewer iPhones?!
1/14/2013After years as the global must-have gadget, is the iPhone finally losing steam? In news that will delight the haters and freak out the fanboys, signs point to yes. The iPhone has already seen its dominance successfully challenged by Samsung and its latest crop of phones — and now comes news that Apple has cut its order for iPhone 5 parts. The Wall Street Journal reports that the order has "dropped to roughly half of what the company had previously planned" — i.e. fewer parts, fewer phones. Industry experts are holding off on hitting panic buttons for now, but will be paying close attention to the firm's earnings report later this month. [Source]
