Polish grocer A.pl targeted by Apple's copyright legal squad

9/12/2012

That $1 billion win against Samsung has sparked Apple’s legal appetite; now the iGiant is going after Polish online grocer A.pl and its cute apple logo for, you guessed it, copyright infringement. Yes, there’s only one way to pronounce A.pl, and yeah, that little green apple does have a floating leaf, but A.pl’s chief exec says, "The accusation is ludicrous." Note that the shop’s not even using the logo right now and that .pl is standard for every Polish website. Twitterati are adopting a pick-on-someone-your-own-size attitude: "#Apple on its merry way to become the laughing stock of, well, everybody," tweets @Dozykraut. We’re wondering if The Black Eyed Peas rapper apl.de.ap might have a stronger case. [Source]
