Arby's manager fired after climbing out drive-thru to escape robber

10/22/2012

When Mary Archer was cornered by a knife-wielding robber in the Arby's where she worked, the 56-year-old assistant manager was determined to survive. She shoved him and fled, screaming for help as she climbed out of the drive-thru window. "I had pushed him away … because I'm like, 'I'm not going to die in Arby's tonight,'" Archer said of her ordeal. The robber fled and hasn't been caught or punished, but Archer sure was. The company announced that the 22-year employee would be terminated immediately. An Arby's spokesperson said she'd violated the safety policy by being alone inside the store. She wasn't alone, not if you count the man who THREATENED HER WITH A KNIFE. [Source]
