Arizona gives Spanish-speaking voters wrong election date
10/17/2012The Arizona Department of Elections in Maricopa County could really use some proofreaders. A document that was attached to voter registration cards incorrectly listed the date of the general election as Nov. 8. Duh; it's actually two days earlier, on Nov. 6. The interesting thing is that the document managed to get the date right in the English version; it was only in the Spanish translation that the incorrect date was listed. Yvonne Reed, the spokeswoman for the department, called the flub "an honest mistake" and noted that it had been corrected. Gracias. [Source]
