Army turns to 'Xena, Warrior Princess' for armor ideas

In its efforts to improve the body armor soldiers wear during combat, the U.S. Army has suddenly realized that female soldiers' bodies are different from men's. As a result, the Army is turning to an interesting source of inspiration as they create new designs: the heroine from the beloved former TV show "Xena, Warrior Princess." Their current women's body armor can cause discomfort and even hinder female soldiers' effectiveness on the battlefield. New designs would allow for narrower shoulders, shorter torso length and could even include plates that conform to body shapes (similar to Xena's armor). Still, we doubt they'll advise soldiers to use that famous "ayiyiyiyi" battle cry.
