Turkey Day won't be the same: Mr. Food dies at 81
11/21/2012As millions of Americans nervously contemplate devouring the turkey in their fridge, cooking has lost one of its most enthusiastic champions: Art Ginsburg, better known as Mr. Food, has died at the age of 81. Ginsburg was best known as a supporter of low-fuss home cooking, and he remained staunchly uninterested in TV food celebrity. "They're on the Food Network … and they're getting big money," he told the Associated Press in 2010. "I was always the hometown guy." It was a successful approach: Ginsburg sold 8 million books, while his TV segments appeared on 168 stations. Here's hoping he'll be remembered with a few "Ooh, it's so good!" at dinner tables nationwide tomorrow. [Source]
