Artist deep-fries iPad, Game Boy, headphones, and more
6/20/2012In photos that are alternately disgusting, captivating and infuriating, a Brooklyn-based artist depicts deep-fried gadgets — including an iPad, an iPhone, a Game Boy and more. Henry Hargreaves, who was born in New Zealand, explains that he wanted to explore the connection between our lust for gadgets and fried fast food, both of which we tend to consume and dispose of quickly. But there's no reason to get upset about Hargreaves destroying thousands of dollars' worth of technology. The artist says "no real gadgets were harmed in this art project! They're merely foam representations." He goes on, "I assume the screen wouldn't work and I don't want to know how a lithium battery likes 400 degree oil."
