Lesbian wife wins Army base's 'spouse of the year' award
1/26/2013Ashley Broadway wins the day. Broadway is married to Lt. Col. Heather Mack, who is stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. After being denied membership at the base's on-post spouses' club for months, Broadway received two pieces of awesome news this week. First, she was selected as the runaway winner of Fort Bragg's "spouse of the year" award through online voting at Military Spouse magazine's website. Hours after winning that honor, the spouses' club reversed its previous position and extended her a full membership.
