Asian women can command a hefty fee for donating eggs

Need a little extra spending cash? If you're an Asian woman, selling your eggs might net you enough to buy a new car. According to a new report, a spike in demand has seen some Asian women get as much as $10,000 to $20,000 for their eggs. Other ethnic groups routinely earn about $6,000 for theirs. Experts at fertility clinics say the boost in demand is coming from infertile Asian couples who want a child that resembles them and from a cultural aversion to adoption. Another reason for the bump? 2012 is the Year of the Dragon, considered the luckiest in the 12-year Chinese zodiac, and many couples are scrambling to have a baby before 2013's snake slithers in.
