Asparagus could be the cure for the dreaded Jan. 1 hangover
12/29/2012If you're hoping to avoid greeting 2013 with a colossal hangover, it's time to forge a meaningful relationship with asparagus. According to the results of 2009 study doing the rounds again, it's packed full of vitamins and minerals that could reduce the damage booze does to the liver. Lab tests undertaken by a team of Korean researchers also showed the vegetable inhibited the effects of aldehyde, the chemical that gives you a hangover. Unfortunately, the research wasn't clear on when in the party cycle the asparagus should be consumed for best effect, but we're thinking a round or 10 of asparatinis will do the trick. [Source]
