It's so hot in Australia, new colors were added to forecasting map

1/9/2013

Death Valley? DOA. Sahara? So not. Sonoran? Just snorin'. If you want sweltering, extreme, cracked-lip, parched-throat weather try Australia, where it so hot the country's weather bureau had to add new colors to its heat index, because it is, literally, indescribably hot. The current seven-day-long heatwave which has roasted Australia like the proverbial shrimp on the barbie has led to numerous fires and "catastrophic" conditions. Thanks to the baked-kangaroo conditions, deep purple and pink are the new additions to forecasting maps, representing temperatures above 122 degrees Fahrenheit. We doubt even this poor guy wants any part of that. [Source]
