Austria and Slovenia feud over the provenance of a sausage
4/15/2012Some countries fight about diplomacy or foreign trade, but others have more pressing items on their agenda. Slovenia claims its people invented the delicacy in the 19th century and has applied for European Commission for Protected Geographical Indication status. The move has so enraged Austria, which believes it came up with the tasty pork delicacy, that it is formally challenging the bid.
