Awful person steals Paralympian's bike
6/8/2012Krzyszof Jarzebski is a veteran of the Polish navy, a cancer survivor, double amputee and Paralympian. Now he can add "theft victim" to the list. Jarzebski had planned to hand-pedal from San Francisco to New York on a specially designed bike, a trip he'd described as "his dream." Instead, he discovered that somebody with a hand drill had stolen his custom-built $13,000 ride from the entryway where he'd locked it. But Jarzebski is not a quitter. Vladimir Zgoda, Jarzebski's doctor and traveling companion says he'll make the trip in a normal wheelchair if necessary. "Maybe [the thief] made a mistake," Zgoda said. "If you are an honorable man, you can give this bicycle back."
Will Jarzebski get his bike back?
